Scott Chadwick

President & Chief Executive Officer

Scott Chadwick joined the Port of San Diego as President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2025, bringing over three decades of professional experience in public service. His career has been marked by a commitment to championing public employees and a talent for interpreting complex data, honed during his service in the U.S. military.

Prior to the Port, Scott served as city manager for the City of Carlsbad for over six years. Before that, his tenure at the City of San Diego spanned 14 years, during which he held various positions including chief operating officer, human resources director, and labor relations director. Scott’s civilian career began at AFSCME Council 36, Local 127 in San Diego, following his service as an Intelligence Analyst in the U.S. Army.

Scott is a proud Boilermaker with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government from Purdue University. A fourth-generation San Diegan, Scott is deeply rooted in the community and is an avid Padres fan. He and his wife, Christina, live in Point Loma, and enjoy raising their daughter, Caroline.
