What is a Police Incident Report?
This type of report is for people who were involved in an incident that took place in Port of San Diego jurisdiction*. Including:
- Traffic Collision or Accident Reports
- Citations
- Injury reports
- Arrest reports
- Crime reports
- Event Incident Reports
*Port of San Diego jurisdiction includes: San Diego International Airport, San Diego Embarcadero including the cruise ship terminals, Shelter Island, Harbor Island, National City bayfront (Pepper Park), Cesar Chavez Park, Chula Vista Bayfront, Coronado Tidelands Park and Coronado Ferry Landing, Port of San Diego parks (link to parks page) Imperial Beach – Portwood Plaza and Pier.
You are eligible to receive a police incident report if you are a party to the incident:
- Individual(s) involved
- Authorized representative(s) of involved individual(s)
- An Attorney (with client authorization)
- Representative of insurance Company or adjusting agency

How to request incident report copies:

- Complete form
- Have proof of involvement in the case ready to email
- Attorneys must include client authorization
- After completion of the above steps, email above documents to: HPDRecordsRequest@portofsandiego.org
How will I receive my record(s)?
When your Port of San Diego Harbor Police incident report copy request is ready you may obtain it by:
- Pickup at the Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department front counter during business hours

Processing Times:
Report requests, except for traffic collision reports, will be processed within 10 working days from the date of the request. Traffic collision reports may take up to 30 days for the investigating officer to complete, which may delay your request for a copy of the report.
Arrest reports with open court cases are not available until after the case has been completely adjudicated in court.
Important note:
Copies of police reports and other Police Department records can be released only when certain criteria have been met. Requests for release of information are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if they can be granted. While there are several different circumstances that may prevent a report from being released, the following are the most common reasons:
- Case still under investigation / report has not been completed
- Pending criminal court case
- Safety and confidentiality of victims / witnesses
- Case involves a juvenile or other protected party
