People of the Port Career Fair Returns May 14

The Port of San Diego, in partnership with tenants, San Diego & Imperial Counties Colleges Regional Consortium, and the San Diego Working Waterfront, are hosting the third annual People of the Port Career Fair on May 14, 2025.

The goal of the career fair is to help people throughout the region learn about and apply for jobs along the San Diego Bay waterfront. There are approximately 800 businesses located on the Port’s dynamic waterfront generating more than 71,000 good paying jobs, and through a multiplier effect, one in 30 jobs in San Diego County.

In addition to the opportunity to meet with employers, the event will feature informative breakout sessions to learn more about different industries and receive guidance on how to apply for a government job. Volunteers will also be available to support individuals who may feel more comfortable speaking a non-English language such as Spanish, Tagalog, and Farsi. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will also be onsite.

B Street Pier parking will be free until 3 p.m. (look for signs)

More than 25 businesses are expected to participate in this year’s event with part-time and full-time job openings available for various education, skill and experience levels. Industries include:

  • Shipbuilding and ship repair
