The Port of San Diego invites our neighbors and visitors to join the next “A Day at the Park: A Port Experiences Series” event at Cesar Chavez Park. The free, family-friendly fun is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. This event is the second in a three-part series at Port parks along the San Diego Bay waterfront.
“We are so excited to host the next multicultural ‘Day at the Park’ event at Cesar Chavez Park,” said Vice Chair Danielle Moore, one of San Diego’s appointees on the Board of Port Commissioners. “Hosting events like this at our parks is so important because it builds community, showcases local businesses, and most importantly, connects residents and visitors to our beautiful waterfront.”
Cesar Chavez Park is at 1449 Cesar E. Chavez Parkway, San Diego, CA 92101.
Guests will be able to enjoy performances from a variety of local artists, local food vendors, kid friendly activities, and so much more!
This series of events is sponsored under the Port of San Diego’s Tidelands Activation Program in the new Expanded Access Events category, which aims to improve public access to under-activated Port parks via a Port-funded and Port-branded community event. The Port’s Tidelands Activation Program (TAP) is an annual grant program that sponsors large and small events that engage the community and inspire visitors to enjoy San Diego Bay.
The “A Day at the Park” series celebrated its inaugural event on May 18 at Pepper Park in National City. The series will continue with one more planned event happening on June 29 at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista.
