Contact: Kelley Lieberman, 619.643.0154, klieberman@portofsandiego.org
The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department invites the public to join them for coffee and conversation at an upcoming Coffee with a Cop event on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 7 to 11 a.m. at Portside Pier located at 1360 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.
In addition to a free cup of coffee, the event is an opportunity for the community to get to know the officers who patrol the bayfront, ask questions, learn more about the department and learn more about career opportunities. The event will also feature a fire boat and other equipment on display for the public to view. Community Service Officers and Harbor Police dispatchers along with members of the department’s Maritime Tactical (MARTAC) and Homeless Outreach Teams will also be at the event.
Harbor Police works alongside federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to help ensure safety for visitors and residents to the San Diego Bay waterfront. While Harbor Police vigilantly patrols the bay, officers also rely on people who work, live and play along the waterfront to help prevent crimes and ensure the bay is a safe place to visit. Events like Coffee with a Cop help to build trust and strengthen relationships between officers and community members.
This event is part of a larger Coffee with a Cop program held across the United States and around the world, with the goal of breaking down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve.
