Honoring Tradition, Celebrating A New Era: The Port Swearing-in Ceremony

During a beautiful ceremony overlooking San Diego Bay, the Port swore in our 2025 officers for the Board of Port Commissioners. Danielle Moore, a San Diego appointee is chair; Anne Moore, Chula Vista’s appointee, is vice chair; and Michael Zucchet, a second San Diego appointee is secretary.

Guiding Theme Unveiling: Chair Moore shared her personal journey and outlined a vision centered on community-driven progress, sustainability, and innovation, “Progress Anchored in People.”  

A Notable First: Both the chair and the vice chair of the Board of Port Commissioners are women, a first in the Port’s history.
 

Memorable Moments

A Personal Touch: Chair Moore was sworn in by her mother, Felicia Moore. Vice Chair Moore was sworn in by her husband, Curtis Moore. Secretary Zucchet was sworn in by his wife, Teresa Zucchet.

Recognizing Randa: During the ceremony, Randa Coniglio was recognized and honored for her service as CEO and Interim CEO. Notably, Randa is the first woman to ever be president at the Port.
